Broadband acoustic absorbers based on double split-ring resonators at deep subwavelength scale

چکیده
We report both experimentally and numerically that a low-frequency acoustic absorber is realized by double split-ring resonators backed with rigid wall. This leverages the impedance matching dissipation effect, which arises due to thermal-viscous loss within dual channels. As result, this achieves near-perfect sound absorption (the coefficient α = 0.99) at subwavelength thickness of around λ/23. By assembling six unit cells distinct structure parameters form supercell, fractional bandwidth ratio center frequency) increased 40% an average 0.86. Acoustic experiment results validate exceptional performance, also in agreement simulation results. Moreover, employing we create anechoic room demonstrating broadband wide range incident angles while occupying significantly less space than traditional sound-absorbing porous materials. Our composite design paves way for absorbers deep scale

Transmission enhancement through deep subwavelength apertures using connected split ring resonators.
We report astonishingly high transmission enhancement factors through a subwavelength aperture at microwave frequencies by placing connected split ring resonators in the vicinity of the aperture. We carried out numerical simulations that are consistent with our experimental conclusions. We experimentally show higher than 70,000-fold extraordinary transmission through a deep subwavelength apertu...
متن کاملTransmission properties of terahertz pulses through subwavelength double split-ring resonators.
We present a terahertz time-domain spectroscopy study of the transmission properties of planar composite media made from subwavelength double split-ring resonators (SRRs). The measured amplitude transmission spectra reveal a resonance near 0.5 THz, the central frequency of most ultrafast terahertz systems, for one SRR orientation in normal-incidence geometry. This resonance is attributed to the...
متن کاملBroadband omnidirectional antireflection coating based on subwavelength surface Mie resonators
Reflection is a natural phenomenon that occurs when light passes the interface between materials with different refractive index. In many applications, such as solar cells or photodetectors, reflection is an unwanted loss process. Many ways to reduce reflection from a substrate have been investigated so far, including dielectric interference coatings, surface texturing, adiabatic index matching...
متن کاملBroadband Microwave Filters Based on Open Split Ring Resonators (OSRRs) and Open Complementary Split Ring Resonators (OCSRRs): Improved Models and Design Optimization
The paper is focused on the design of broadband bandpass filters at microwave frequencies. The proposed filters are based on a combination of open split ring resonators (OSRRs) and open complementary split ring resonators (OCSRRs) loaded in a host transmission line. Since these resonators (OSRRs and OCSRRs) are electrically small, the resulting filters are compact. As compared to previous paper...
متن کاملOn geometrical scaling of split-ring and double-bar resonators at optical frequencies
In this paper we consider the resonant frequency of split-ring resonators and double-bar resonators used to create artificial magnetic response at terahertz and optical frequencies. It is known that geometrical scaling of the resonant frequency of split rings breaks down at high frequencies (in the visible) due to electromagnetic properties of metals at those frequencies. Here we will discuss t...
